“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
We believe that all kids have unlimited abilities, including kids with special needs.
NorthwestKIDS Unlimited is our new Sunday-morning ministry for special needs children ages 5-12 that provides a fun, nurturing and interactive environment where they can be themselves and grow in God. Each Sunday from 11am-12pm, the Unlimited leaders help and guide kids through activities like:
- Brief Bible lesson of the day
- Sensory activities and/or tactile learning
- Group/common area time
- Workstations time
We understand that every child has unique needs, sensitivities and varying levels of ability. Our goal is to include the Unlimited kids in some of the NorthwestKIDS activities (in the Chapel) as they are able and with the help and guidance of Unlimited leaders.
FIRST-TIME PARENTS: You may simply bring your child as early as 10:45am on Sunday, but we do request that you fill out our online form in advance so we can better accommodate your child (or you may download, print, fill out and bring the PDF form).

About the NorthwestKIDS Unlimited Leaders: Matthew & Jess Wentworth
Matt Wentworth began working with individuals with disabilities during his freshman year of High School as a summer camp counselor. While attending Edgewater High School, Matt served as a student assistant for a special needs classroom and participated in the school’s Best Buddies program. Naturally, Matt built relationships with the students he worked with as well as their families, even becoming involved with a local Special Olympics Team and working as a Companion to a young man with Downs Syndrome.
Matt later attended Rollins College and received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He furthered his education by attending Florida Institute of Technology where he received a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. While pursuing his Master’s Degree Matt worked at Threshold, a local group home for individuals with intensive behavior challenges, as well as Quest, an adult day-training facility that provides work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In November of 2011, Matt was hired as a District Behavior Analyst with Orange County Public Schools, and currently consults with teams supporting students with behavior challenges and various disabilities across 40 schools.
Jess and Matt met at Northwest Church and have been serving side by side in the NorthwestKIDS ministry since 2011. They married in 2012 and now have a young daughter. Jess brings a lively personality and a creative spirit into the NorthwestKIDS Unlimited ministry and is determined to find innovative ways to teach and minister to all children.
