An event to raise funds and awareness for The Lovely Project was recently held at The University Club in downtown Orlando on Thursday, April 17th of this year. The fundraiser, put on by local startup Whiskey&Bizz, featured testimonies and a live dance performance by Lovely girls. Through a live and silent auction of donated items of value, as well as the generosity of attendees, the event raised more than $13,500 in little more than 2 hours. Dr. Crystal Evans and other Lovely Project staff were also able to make some important connections in the City of Orlando. Connections like these have opened doors for The Lovely Project to expand into the Central Florida community to reach at-risk girls. Most recently, The Lovely Project produced a one-day Lovely Experience event exclusively for the resident girls in the University Behavioral Center, a mental health inpatient treatment facility.
